Water’s Song is a children’s book written and illustrated by artist Melody Joy Overstreet. The book centers around the sacred teachings of water and includes hidden references to Persian, a language commonly spoken in Iran as well as other regions. The vivid and moving illustrations were developed as original watercolor paintings created with a handmade lapis lazuli watercolor paint. The book is published in collaboration with Row House / Wheat Penny Press, and is forthcoming in October, 2026.
